Overview Presentation
TeamHeadquarters offers both project management and customer relationship management in a single and powerful software solution. For small and mid-size IT teams of 10-100 members, TeamHeadquarters can significantly improve the way your team collaborates, both internally and externally.
Project Management
The project management part is extremely powerful. Most key PM features are there, be it budget and cost tracking, document management, task management and an impressive number of reporting capabilities. Reports are very well built and visual-type oriented. For project managers especially, TeamHeadquarters provide "Management Reports", a standout feature that gives a bird's eye view of all metrics in the project.
Customer Relationship Management
The CRM part is also extremely powerful. Unlike some of their competitors who pretend to offer both PM and CRM while in reality, they don't, TeamHeadquarters delivers a real "hybrid" system. Both the staff and the client portals work effectively. Time tracking is integrated in ticket creation, which is time-saving and very convenient. A timer is also included in the ticket form in order to show the time spent on the ticket, in real-time. Although the number of popups may get annoying, the system's convenience overrides this minor drawback. As mentioned before, TeamHeadquarters provides awesome reports, and the Ticket Monitor proves it once again.
Workspaces
Workspaces are used to create units for the various departments in your organization. This helps avoid information scattering as you can concentrate all tickets, projects and tasks that belong to "Technical Support" in one workspace, and what belongs to "Customer Service" is in another. A workspace can also include contacts, which can be either created manually or imported from an Access file.
Browser Compatibility and Interface Appearence
Although the client portal is compatible with all browsers, TeamHeadquarters itself is compatible with Internet Explorer only. This can represent a major showstopper for Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Opera users, as the application doesn't work at all with any of these browsers. Furthermore, interface-wise, don't expect a modern, flashy and web 2.0 design. The navigation works pretty well, it just looks dated at many levels. This doesn't affect the software's performance or anything however.
The Bottom Line
For small, mid-size and even large IT teams with both project management and customer relationship management needs, TeamHeadquarters ought to be considered. The system is robust, offers a wealth of management capabilities, and the learning curve is average. However, for teams that don't use Internet Explorer and have third-party integration needs, TeamHeadquarters may not be the best option. Otherwise, if these two elements are not showstoppers for your organization, consider TeamHeadquarters.
