TrackStudio is a powerful yet flexible issue tracking system aimed at keeping management simple even in large groups.
TrackStudio is conveniently organized in two working modes: user management and task management. User management is very interesting: it offers 6 pre-designed user types well adapted to issue tracking and software development. Each user is associated to a type, while each type has its own access rights.
Task management offers many efficient options. The one that impressed us the most was the filter function. Not only are customizable filters already built-in the system, more of them can be created to suit your organization's needs. Moreover, each parameter sorting is individually chosen. These filters are then used to make reports. We really liked the fact that reports are easily produced and exportable in a wide range of formats: CSV, HTML, PDF, Excel and even XML!
The tasks themselves are easy to use, update and create. In fact, any user can create a new task intuitively. Task dependencies can be created, making it easy to divide work amongst a team, for example. TrackStudio has kept its commitment to flexibility in tasks as well: while basic fields are convenient, a user can create more custom fields to add in data specific to the project of organization.
Field captions can even be adapted to suit your needs. For advanced users, the customizable fields function permits adding more dynamic computation to the system. For example, TrackStudio can be setup to compute the number of days required for a project to be completed. Task data can be exported to a downloadable zip file.
Email functions are also well thought-through. Users can be notified on changes to tasks and emails can be imported into a task.
Overall, TrackStudio is an efficient, flexible and powerful system well adapted to organizations large and small. It is useful already with its basic settings, and can become even better suited to your needs with a little effortless customization.
