Standard Time, from Scoutwest Inc, is designed to track time and money. Contrary to other time sheet and expenses products on the market, Standard Time is not its own island. In fact, Standard Time can update Microsoft Project and QuickBooks with the time sheet information the users put it.
In Microsoft Project, project tasks and sub-tasks are imported in Standard Time via the .mpp file, then each person can come in and log time against the tasks assigned to them. What’s even better, Standard Time can even update the Microsoft Project file with the time sheet information, giving the project manager instant performance statistics, without having to manually input the information.
Integration is similar with QuickBooks. Each client and contract is imported in Standard Time, and employees can log time against them. Like with Microsoft Project, the time sheets can be imported in QuickBooks for easy billing and payroll processing.
For employees, Standard Time provides a very simple interface that looks very much like the traditional paper time sheets. It’s a basic grid of all the tasks to which they are assigned. All there is left to do is type the time worked on the task for each day.
For employees on the road, Standard Time is accessible with a PDA. For example, you can start a timer when you leave for a client site, and close it when you arrive. This way, a record is kept of travelling times and can be charged accordingly.
To save even more time, Standard Time can be linked with your Active Directory server, using LDAP. This greatly simplifies user and password management, on top of increasing the security of access to your financial data.
On the human resources management side, Standard Time also includes a Time Off feature, where employees that request and log time off. Managers can approve or refuse time off requests, and keep records of the employee requests.
Standard Time is a good time-tracking, cost-tracking and billing system that gives the Administrator a lot of flexibility to integrate as much or as little as they want.
