Overview Presentation
Intervals is a powerful multi-purpose project management and time tracking solution. No matter how small or large your team is, Intervals can serve you tremendously well.
Guided Approach
Right off the bat, the first thing that caught our attention was the impressive number of instructions all across the interface, starting with an "account setup wizard". This wizard helps you configure your account properly and ensures you proceed in the right order. Unlike several of their competitors, you know where you’re going the minute you log in. Furthermore, you get all kinds of instructions whenever you create items or use features for the first time. Although the interface design isn’t the slickest on the market, usability is grade A.
Project Management, Time Tracking and Invoicing
Mastering project management in Intervals may take some time for some managers, but overall, once you understand the process, it is pretty straightforward. Once again, since Intervals’ interface provides lots of instructions, you can find your way through easily whenever questions raise. The combination of time tracking and invoicing is very solid. Time can be marked as billable in the system and added to invoices accordingly. Seldom do products on the market offer both features without involving third-party tools. Time can be entered using a time sheet or a timer, which offers flexibility to the end user.
Reports, Reports, Reports
The number and quality of reports available in Intervals is amazing. The “Reports” tab provides 9 project management and time tracking oriented reports, be it, pie charts, Gantt charts (they call them “Periscope”), and a project landscape, among others. Every report is well-built and well-presented, with tons of filters and parameters available. Furthermore, reports can be saved and exported to PDF, among other formats. Reporting-wise, Intervals is undoubtedly a leader in that regard.
Pricing
Intervals doesn’t break the bank. Actually, monthly pricing ranges from $20 for the Basic package to $175 for the “Top Shelf” package. Most SMBs can easily work with Intervals for less than $100 per month, since their packages offer a lot for the buck.
The Bottom Line
Intervals deserves to make your evaluation list if you’re looking for a robust, powerful and multi-faceted project management solution. The learning curve is short, pricing is reasonable and its wide range of features can help organizations of any size achieve great success in their projects.
